Lake Baikal

Beautiful, one of the oldest, longest and the deepest freshwater lake in the world. Apart from Omul fish, there are various other species of flora and fauna endemic to the lake. Apparently the northern most part of the lake is almost always frozen, there is not enough summer time to melt its ice! Unfortunately it was a cloudy day and it rained a little on the day that we went there, so the boat trip we booked for was cancelled..
